I have been holding on to this interview for three months (!), but today is the day to finally share it with you.
One reason it's time to share it is because Christine Mason Miller's new book, Moving Water, is in stock as of yesterday and is now shipping worldwide. Once you watch the interview and decide to purchase the book, you can head on over here and drop it in your shopping cart.
Additionally, it's time to share this interview because there's no better time than the present to be brave. I've been holding on to this interview partly because of my own self-critical voice. When I first watched the playback of the video after we recorded it, I could only think critically about myself. You're too loud in this interview, Christianne, I told myself. Too hopped-up on energy. Tone it down next time. New folks won't like you.
Then I thought, Maybe I should redo the interview in written form. Would Christine be up for that?
Isn't that always the way? We try something new and are excited about it, but our self-critical voice sabotages us from putting ourselves out there a little too much.
But you know what? I was hopped-up on energy for this interview. Christine is a gem, and I was excited to be starting this interview series and to have her as my very first guest.
Also, there's just too much good stuff here to try to redo it or to keep it stowed away on my external hard drive, helping no one. I want to share Christine and her wisdom and her book's journey with you. So, here it is.
In this interview, we cover:
- How she knew it was time to write her book
- How she got her book written while living in a busy, bustling household
- How she got the courage to start over after she'd written the third draft
- How she discerned her way through the publishing process
- Why she ultimately decided self-publishing was right for her
PS: In my next interview, I'm talking with a book designer about what it's like to visually interpret a book and why having the right designer on your team is such an asset. I hope you'll stick around! Sign up here to receive emails from me on the writing and publishing process, plus updates when new interviews and other blog posts are published.
